Natural Horse
~ Introduction ~

What is Natural Horse?

The Natural Horse concept is based on bringing the horse's natural habits, or instincts, into the lives of domesticated horses as much as we can. Horses around the world suffer from stress from restriction of natural habits. For example, in the wild horse herds are constantly on the search for resources to sustain their health and well being, and their whole physical, mental and emotional system is built around this.

In domesticated life, not only is their movement limited, but are often also their resources such as food and water. As well as their choice of resources, their social lives, their ability to flee, and so many more of their instincts.

So... the concept of Natural Horse is based on providing the horse with an environment where he can just be a horse, as much as possible. This means learning as much as we can about him, and all the aspects of him, so that we can provide all the environment he needs to be healthy, happy and eager to explore his relationship with you.

~ Inspiring situations ~

When I was in Holland in 2009, I stumbled across a pasture with a group of beautiful horses, including 2 foals.
I was studying the horses & was surprised to find out that one of the horses was a stallion. This being rare I set off to watch the animals closer.
The foals were beautiful and active, and the little colt (white one) was already copying the Stallions behaivior of watching over the herd. It was incredible to see how balanced it was.

You may think:
Why of course it is balanced, it's the way nature intended!
My wish is that more people would think this way!

People say it is not possible to keep the Stallion with other horses, this is definitly true as it can be very dangerous!
But why is it dangerous? Because the moment he is 1 year old, we keep him away from mares & foals.
So if makes perfect sense that it's dangerous to keep them together.
On the other hand, if we would bring up a colt around his family members, he will learn to communicate, and there is no reason to keep him seperate.
