About Me
~ Project Natural Marwari ~

Let me introduce myself: I'm Beau Bikker.

Horses have been in my life ever since I had my first bareback lesson in Auroville India.
Right after I moved to India in 2001, I got my own pony to love: Flicka! For 5 years we lived together & I was learning to ride in the best possible way, bareback!

When I laid eyes on my first Marwari horse, I was stunned, not realizing such beautiful creatures existed. That was it, there is no doubt about it.. Marwari horses are my future.
Ever since, my dream is to create a Natural Marwari Breeding Farm somewhere in South India.
I'm confident this is going happen & I'm putting all my energy & will into this project.

The world is changing so fast & with it the concepts of the horse world. It's about time we start doing things right!
80% of the horse people are still using force & fear to control horses & keeping them in unatural environments.

My views are very strong in this subject, created by all the horses that I have taught to trust & love humans again. Horses that were terrified of being ridden.
Most of the equines here in India are in the worst physical conditions possible, due to breaking in too early & all this because of lack of understanding? That's exactly why I'm working to create a place of inspiration for people to see how it can be done differently, naturally.

The Project Plan:

A Marwari Natural Horse Breeding Farm is a promising vision in the future. A place where the horses can live and grow up in the most Natural possible habitat that we can provide for them. Foals growing up in a herd, with role models in the form of herd leaders & at the same time build a trusting relationship with the people.
The idea being to bring the foals up in a mixed world of horse ways and human ways. To create harmony & trust, by introducing them to both worlds with love & leadership

Breeding Marwari Horses:

The Breeding af these horses will go with a careful selection of animals approved by the official stud book association.
Together with personal choice of sturdy elegant animals that show the true nature and phisycal form of this breed. Click here to read the breed characteristics of the Marwari Horse.
The foals will either be sold to approved homes, or kept for further breeding.

The concepts of the Breeding Facility:

  • The foals will grow up in a Natural environment with other herd members
  • Whenever possible they will grow up with a role model stallion
  • They will not be seperated from the dam under 12 months of age
  • The mares will not be rebred without a sufficient resting period between foalings

Training & Riding

Riding with a different concept:
Not: I'm riding you, I tell you where to go.
But: Let's ride together, where would we like to go?

Everything to do with bringing up & caring for the Foals, will be done at the farm itself. No other outside facilities will be hired.

Starting horses will go gradually, starting at a very young age with games & exercises. Until they literally 'grow into' the actual training and riding.

- Note: Any straining physical work (training or riding) will start only when the individual animal is ready for it. But will never happen under 4 years of age.

The Farm's concepts & facilties:

  • 24/7 Turnout
  • 24/7 Contact with other horses of different ages and genders
  • Natural feeding patterns
  • Natural hoofcare
  • Natural horse savvy employees
  • Natural medication (Homepathy & Herbal treatments)
  • Training & starting using trust & patience

Facilities that are planned for the futher future:

  • Teaching Center for anyone interested.
  • Facility for horse trainers to give classes
  • Hostel
  • Trail riding
  • Boarding stable

Further plans:

Another idea for the project is to create a community for Natural horse entausiast to live together, learning, teaching & building. The circle of possiblilities is great.

Perhaps we will be able to take in abused horses to give them a place to live freely!

What's happening now:

I'm very busy gathering information & contacts needed to set up this project. Including finding a way to finance it all.
A trip to the North of India (Rajasthan & Punjab) is sceduled & this will create an opportunity to meet various breeders of fine Marwari horses.
There are certain Marwari Blood lines that I'm interested in, so I wish to be able to get familliar with them.
